Living Waters Assembly of God

Our Vision

The Living Waters Vision identifies our number one priority as this; “ to present the clear message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone in our community in a manner they can understand.” Secondly it is our priority to disciple believers in the full truths of the Scriptures. Thirdly we commit ourselves to providing for corporate worship in a meaningful manner and fourthly provide fellowship for believers.

This Vision causes us to specifically emphasize ministry to children and teens as well as families. We believe that youth are the hope of the future as well as being a very responsive audience. Our present facility has very limited space to implement these priorities. We have consistent problems with educational space, fellowship space and even worship space at times. Parking also has been a problem.

Over several years, adjustments have been made to accommodate the growing ministries of Living Waters. In 2001, we began a second midweek service by starting Royal Rangers and Missionettes, our children’s clubs, on Thursday nights. This ministry has grown each year and additional classes have been started. This past Fall, the boys programs were moved to space in another church.

In May of 2005, an 8:00 AM worship service was started with the vision to accommodate additional growth as well as meet a need for “early risers.” This worship service has been well received and is growing.

In August of 2002, our congregation purchased 11 acres on the East side of New London. In February of 2005, the congregation decided to embark on a Faith Project of $14,000 which would pay for architectural plans and water & sewer laterals.

Also, the congregation selected a 10,000 square foot plan produced by Godwin & Associates of Springfield, Missouri, a well known church designing company. This plan doubles our worship space, triples our education space, and more than doubles our fellowship space. Also included will be a balcony, a baptistry, and a parking lot.

The congregation is currently implementing a Stewardship Campaign which will provide funding for the construction of the building.

At the heart of advancement must be prayer. Special Intercessory Prayer groups have been operating for the past two years. They are called Impact Prayer Groups.

We have seen remarkable answers to prayers including salvations, healings, and provision of finances. Recently, we have seen an increase in our missions giving. The passion for missions is being also demonstrated by young adults taking mission trips to places such as Central America, Europe, Africa, and Northern and Southern Asia. Also adults have ministered in New Orleans and Milwaukee.

Secondly, we need workers and volunteers at all levels. Our congregation is typically very involved in helping in teaching and reaching. There are many other practical tasks of transportation, cleaning, and maintenance. Also, since many tasks require preparation, we have committed ourselves to helping equip believers to become all God wants them to be.

Thirdly, we are asking for Partners to invest in this Vision. We are going Forward By Faith. As of November, $54,000 has come in.
